My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
As a pro-choice therapist, I hold space for clients to navigate reproductive decisions without judgement or shame. As part of that, I encourage clients to allow themselves permission to have a full range of feelings, regardless of what they have been told they "should" feel.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
I believe that every body is deserving of care and respect, that every individual should be trusted to know what is best for their body and themself, and that every person should have access to the care (medical and emotional) to be able to make those decisions. Reproductive freedom and body autonomy are part of the larger imperative of reproductive justice and of basic human rights.
