My Pro-Choice Perspective

What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Through my own abortion story I realized I needed support to help manage the emotions and the thoughts that came along with my decision. Negative stigmas about abortion had been politicize and were all over the internet and news. It was really difficult to find actual resources for support. I searched many profiles and I realized that it was hard to find therapist that made it clear if they were a safe place to process abortion or if they would be another trap of unhelpful misinformation and shaming tactics. I realized there is a lack of legitimate resources for helping people who need to process abortion in a safe matter. I was lucky enough to find an abortion life coach and as I processed my own feelings and thoughts after abortion, I wanted to be a safe place for others to do so too. This platform will allow me to be able to show I am a safe place and client can easily access the type of therapist they need. It can be very stressful finding the right therapist and I believe having a pro-choice directory can help narrow down choices in order to find a client's best fit.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
I believe that everyone should have the right to chose the best decision for themselves and their body without having to face shame or judgment. Everyone knows their life and their body more than any one else therefore, no one should have a say on the choices they make. Self love, self confidence, and self compassion increases when they have reproductive freedom and body autonomy and every person deserves that right.
