My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist means that I am an inclusive therapist that respects my clients own experience and wisdom to make decisions for themselves.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
As a provider and as a human, much of my work has been with individuals where their rights to body autonomy were/are threatened or violated. The impact of this kind of violation on human emotional, physical, and relational health can be profound. I believe and see that those of us who are already marginalized in society are at greater risk for this harm as well potential betrayal from communities that we have relied on. It is my value as a human and a provider to provide care for persons that honors their own wisdom and decisions about their body. I would like to also be apart of a movement that paves the way for reproductive freedom for all.
