My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
It means supporting any choices that individuals make around pregnancy, whether that is termination, parenting, or adoption. To me, it also means supporting all choices around fertility treatment. More broadly, being a pro-choice therapist means that I trust my clients as the experts of their own bodies and minds.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
I believe that body autonomy is crucial to our mental health and well-being. Additionally, I know that navigating pregnancy and perinatal healthcare can be particularly challenging or inaccessible for many marginalized groups including neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ folks. No one should be forced to experience this.
