My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist means that I am offered the unique and important experience of being able to hold space for individuals across the perinatal spectrum. I offer a sacred space of non-judgmental therapy to explore the complexities associated with reproductive health and reproductive loss and I value the ability for all individuals to make decisions regarding their own health (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual).
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Reproductive justice, freedom, and body autonomy are crucial the physical, mental, spiritual, emotional health of all individuals- child bearing or other. All individuals have the right to make decisions about their own body without fear of repercussions and judgement. Reproductive freedom and body autonomy are synonymous with basic human rights, and I believe all individuals should have access to healthcare.
