My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist entails offering full acceptance of my clients' reproductive decisions, and ensuring therapy is a space where they can feel assured that they will be given non-judgmental support. It also involves acknowledgement of the current political landscape and allowing space to process how that impacts this very personal moment in someone's life. It may also involve processing grief and anger over feeling unsupported by family, friends or wider society. I would hope to help people find internal peace and hope, regardless of their specific context or decision.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Reproductive freedom and body autonomy are essential rights that should be accorded to all humans. I firmly believe in respecting and honoring self-determination in regards to the decision of how to manage a pregnancy.
