My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
To be pro-choice means I must bring politics in to my role as a therapist by supporting and advocating for my clients by example. Through advocacy and my role as a therapist, I am able to hold space for them that they may not have or cannot easily find. Being a pro-choice therapist, I am choosing to hold justice and autonomy in the highest regard along with personal ethical standards.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
I strongly believe people have the rights to their own bodies and no other opinion should be considered in decisions that do not affect them. Considering the political climate, reproductive freedom and body autonomy are under attack and will have a drastic impact not only on women but on many other folx with marginalized identities.
