My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist means creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore and make decisions about their reproductive health without fear or shame. It means respecting each person’s autonomy, values, and lived experience. I support clients in navigating complex emotions and choices while advocating for their right to accessible, compassionate care.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy are essential to emotional well-being, personal agency, and safety. When individuals are denied control over their own bodies and reproductive choices, it can lead to increased trauma, anxiety, depression, and a loss of trust in systems meant to support them. Supporting these rights is a critical part of promoting mental health, resilience, and overall quality of life.
