My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a "pro-choice therapist" means that I believe in the right of each human to choose what happens to their own body. I have no interest in upholding systems that uphold oppressive laws and policies. No one should be forced to do anything in their own body that goes against their personal wishes and wisdom. I will do what is in my power to confidentially support individuals in need.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
As an individual who has supported family members through abortion and always considered an abortion as an option should I get pregnant before feeling ready, reproductive freedom and autonomy is very important to me. As a nonbinary individual supporting trans folx and birthing bodies, the right to choose and the right to autonomy over one's body has been key to empowering individuals.
