My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
To be a pro-choice therapist means I support people who can become pregnant by offering a safe space to decide what THEY want to do with their bodies and pregnancies. I offer a nonjudgmental environment for folks to work through options and feelings they may have about these options. I am also committed to working through stigma, fear that can manifest from sources who frighten and often misinform pregnant people about what their options are.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
People have as their birthright, the freedom to make choices about their own bodies with autonomy - this is my core belief. This includes and is not limited to reproductive health and related decisions. No policitician or religious leader has the right to tell someone what they can do with their bodies or health choices. I see bodily autonomy as a basic human right and I stand for this.
