Sonal (any pronouns) believes that therapy can be a space of transformation, healing, and hope—and that this work begins with co-creating a space where you feel comfortable and safe bringing all versions of yourself. Using a trauma-informed anti-oppressive approach, Sonal addresses the ways in which people can feel stuck in their lives, and explores what liberation and growth mean to them. Sonal has experience working with individuals navigating trauma (including family of origin-related, racial, immigration, and intergenerational trauma), disordered eating and body image concerns, relationship issues, experiences of childhood/gender-based violence, anxiety, mood disorders (including bipolar I and II), and job and career related stressors. They also facilitate folk’s identity-based explorations, including their relationship with gender and sexuality, geographical/cultural identities, disability, and neurodivergence. Sonal draws from feminist, narrative, internal family systems, and psychodynamic approaches, and is trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy).
