My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist means I keep my bias and beliefs out of the therapeutic setting and supporting my client in whatever they are bringing into the session. Allowing my clients to be authentic and building a space where they can process their reproductive process, giving factual information without making my clients feel as if I'm trying to sway them in one way or another.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
It is my belief everyone has a right to choose what is best for themselves, their families, and their bodies. No one knows better than the person themselves as to what the best decision for their life is than them. Having freedom to make whatever choice is best for them isn't something that should be taken away.
