My Pro-Choice Perspective

What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist means that I will always trust you to make the decisions that are right for you — including, and especially, decisions about your body, your reproductive health, and your future.

To me, being pro-choice is about more than just supporting access to abortion — it’s about fully honoring your bodily autonomy and holding space for your lived experience, no matter what that looks like. Whether you’re navigating a current decision, processing a past abortion, feeling unsure, relieved, empowered — or all of those things at once — this is a space where you don’t have to explain or justify anything. You are welcome here exactly as you are.

I believe in your right to choose abortion without shame, stigma, or pressure. I also believe in your right to parent, not parent, or remain undecided. My role isn’t to steer you in any direction — it’s to offer you a grounded, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely, at your pace, in your own words.

Consent and choice are at the heart of how I practice. That includes honoring your emotional, physical, and psychological boundaries in the therapy room and supporting your right to access affirming care in every area of your life. I know the systems we move through aren’t kind or safe — especially for those whose identities have been historically marginalized — and I’m committed to creating a space where your voice is not only heard, but deeply respected.

You deserve care that sees you, believes you, and trusts you. I’m here to walk alongside you — with compassion, honesty, and unwavering support — as you navigate whatever choices or experiences you carry. You are not alone, and your autonomy will always be honored here.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy matter deeply to me — not just as a clinician, but as a human being who believes that you have the right to make decisions about your body, your health, and your life without shame, pressure, or fear.

In our work together, I want you to feel truly safe — safe to explore what you want, what you need, and what feels right for you. I believe that consent isn’t just about saying yes or no — it’s about having the space, information, and support to make choices that are aligned with your values and lived experience. And that includes choices around abortion, pregnancy, parenting, and everything in between.

So many systems in this world try to take that power away — especially from people who’ve already been marginalized or silenced. As a therapist, I see it as my responsibility to hold a space that’s the opposite of that: a space where your autonomy is deeply respected, where your voice leads, and where no part of your story is too complicated or too much.

You are the expert on your own body and life. I’m here to support you, not to judge or decide for you — but to walk beside you as you navigate what’s best for you, in your timing, on your terms.
