My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist means creating a space where clients can talk openly about their reproductive decisions without fear of judgment, stigma, or shame. It means affirming the validity of their choices and supporting them in processing the emotional, relational, or practical aspects of those choices. To me, “pro-choice” also means advocating for access to care, respecting diverse perspectives, and centering the client’s voice and values above all else.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
As a child-free by choice person, I strongly believe every human should have the autonomy to make decisions about their own bodies. As a therapist, I believe healing happens when people feel empowered to live authentically and make decisions that align with their values, relationships, and life circumstances. Supporting reproductive freedom is an essential part of honoring autonomy and humanity of the people I work with.
