My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
So often in therapy, I hear experiences of people managing the effects from a time when they were not in control of their body, from a time when their autonomy was taken away. Being a pro-choice therapist means that I am actively and fully supporting those I serve to have autonomy over their body and choices in all situations, and I will work to uplift their voice and choices.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
I believe that feeling connected to, safe and present in, and autonomous over our bodies is a fundamental human right. I believe that people have the right to act and engage with the world in a way that aligns with their sense of safety. To accomplish this, all people must have full autonomy over their bodies and their reproductive choices.
