My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a "pro-choice therapist" means being able to hold my clients through whatever choices they make for their reproductive journey. It means, being aware of the current rights and knowing how to support clients through any difficult decisions they may have to make while being sure clients are able to recognize and uphold that it is their decision and not that of others.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
As a clinician, too often I hear stories of people's freedoms and voices being taken away. Reproductive freedom and body autonomy continues to cause people to lose their voice and I believe my job is to empower others to not lose it or to gain it back when faced with fighting for their reproductive freedoms and body autonomy.
