My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a "pro choice therapist" to me means offering compassion and understanding to people facing a difficult decision and some of the complicated feelings that may arise. It means offering a judgement free space where people can share all of their internal thoughts without fear of upsetting others. Being a pro choice therapist to me also means using my own platform as a therapist to advocate for those who don't feel safe enough to share their voice or thoughts, to work once again towards safe, affordable, and accessible abortions for anyone who wishes to have one.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Reproductive freedom and body autonomy is important to me because I believe that every person has the right as a human to make the decisions for their own body. People should be provided education by their medical provider and then be able to weigh all of their options to chose the one that best aligns with their values, beliefs, and needs as a unique and individual person.
