My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
To me, being a "pro-choice therapist" means championing and advocating for the fundamental right of every individual to make their own reproductive decisions. It's about centering the client's self-determination and recognizing that there's no one-size-fits-all answer. Instead, it's about creating a safe and supportive environment where each person's unique experience is honored and respected. Pro-choice therapy is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves compassionate, non-judgmental care as they navigate their reproductive health and choices.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
As a clinician, reproductive freedom and body autonomy are deeply important to me due to my own personal experiences and professional journey. Having experienced abortions myself, supported by a strong network, I've come to understand the critical importance of autonomy and access to reproductive healthcare. I've witnessed firsthand the impact of systemic challenges on individuals' physical and emotional well-being, and I'm committed to advocating for comprehensive, person-centered care within and beyond the therapy room.
