My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist means being open to the experiences of others, and meeting someone where they are. It means supporting and affirming all choices and trusting that my clients have made the best choice for themselves and their families.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Reproductive freedom and body autonomy are important to me because they represent the most basic rights. A person must have autonomy over their body, their life, their choices if they are to find mental and emotional wellness, and to achieve the life they want to live. This also means having access to pro-choice mental healthcare and trained/competent providers, a key goal in the creation of my counseling practice.
