My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
For me, being pro-choice means being pro-client. I fully support a client’s right to choose the path that is best for them, including in decisions around pregnancy, reproduction, and termination for a wide variety of reasons. I also strongly believe that in a world where reproductive rights have been limited, controlled, or taken away—or are at risk of being taken away—that being a pro-choice therapist means working against those oppressive limitations that are specifically targeting people who can become pregnant.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Just as a person’s inner world is worthy of care, compassion, and curiosity, so too is a person’s body and bodily autonomy. I work closely with clients on the mind-body connection, and body autonomy and reproductive freedom are critical parts of creating and maintaining overall wellness and a strong mind-body connection.
