My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
To be a "pro-choice therapist" means that I am opening up my practice to support those who have considered or undergone an abortion. As a licensed clinical social worker it is important to me that individuals find safe places to process their experiences, thoughts and feelings. I aim to be one of those safe spaces where all feelings and parts are welcome.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Freedom and body autonomy is a basic human right. I feel that medical decisions should be between a woman and her medical provider(s). I passionately oppose any attempts to inflict one's personal beliefs on another persons body which creates more trauma and wounding.
