My Pro-Choice Perspective

What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
I accept my client as they are. They reached out for help and that in and of itself is a brave first step in the healing journey. My client is the expert in their own lives and I am here to help them be the best version of themselves that they want to be. That means they choose. I have no right to tell them what to do; I make suggestions or offer ideas, but ultimately my client makes the choice.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Women have the right to make choices about their bodies. Who am I to tell another woman what she can and cannot do with her body? I wouldn't want someone to tell me what to do with mine! I value having a choice. I was lucky enough to have access to birth control when I was younger; had I not, my life could look very different today.
