My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist to me means that I truly believe in supporting my clients in making the choice that is best for them, regardless of what that choice is. Holding space for a client as they navigate a difficult time is both my job, and one of the biggest honors in my life. I am here to help them decide the path that is right for them, not direct them in any way.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Since my formative years, I have believed in the importance of an individual's right over their own body. Everyone deserves the right to make their own decisions about their body and when or if they start a family. Though I have always believed in the importance of trusting women to make the choice that is right for them, it has only deepened since becoming a mother myself. I have had the benefit of many advantages in my journey towards becoming a mother, and have still found it the hardest thing I have ever done. Supporting others in finding their path, regardless of what that may be, feels like some of life's most important work.
