My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist means I value exactly that, your choice. You can rely on me for resource coordination and the provision of accurate information, but you can also rely on me for emotional support as you consider your reproductive choices and your future.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Therapy and feminism both highly value autonomy in all its forms, and my therapeutic work is deeply feminist in its orientation. Body autonomy and reproductive freedom are values that undeniably impact the every day experience of the client, and it is my job as a clinician to empower and encourage the progression of those values. The personal is political!
