My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
As a pro-choice therapist, I would uphold the values that I believe that all therapists should practice which is to provide unconditional positive regard and nonjudgemental care to our clients regardless of what our personal beliefs may be.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
As a person centered therapist, I believe that all individuals should experience the freedom to explore and make choices that led to fulfilling life experiences. Additionally, as a trauma informed therapist, I believe that attempts to restrict these choices continue to inflict trauma onto individuals by increasing feelings of powerlessness and loss of control.
