My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a "pro-choice therapist" means that I will never judge, shame, or dictate what you should do with your body. I will support you in whatever decisions you choose to make with your body, and hold space for whatever emotions and thoughts may be associated with your decisions.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Humans have the right to do what they want with their body. Your body is YOURS and therefore you can make whatever decisions you want with your body. As a provider who works with many LGBTQIA+ and gender diverse folks, bodily autonomy is foundational element of personhood. Reproductive freedom is equally essential and is incredibly important in our relationship to our own bodies. Choosing whether or not to reproduce is up to the person, and no one else's opinion matters.
