My Pro-Choice Perspective

What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Pro-choice means I honor the sanctity of the individual to know her own life, body, and needs best. It means not only do I withhold any judgment, I stand with the individual against those who would form judgments or deny autonomy to make the decisions that are best and most loving for her own life. Pro-choice means that I honor the life of the adult before the prospective life of the embryo or fetus.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Bodily autonomy is the most basic of all freedoms. Without it, we are in no sense free.
Reproductive choices are immensely personal, sensitive, complex, and often painful. No one has the right to make, judge, or restrict such personal decisions for another.
