My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a "pro-choice therapist" means showing a compassion and support to people who are dealing with difficult decisions in regards to their reproductive rights such as abortion care or reproductive rights. Dr. Britt meets the clients where they are on their journey and supports them in processing their options. We believe in providing abortion-affirming care.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Reproductive freedom and body autonomy are important to Dr. Britt because everybody deserves the right to choose based on their values and it the core basic right that everyone should be afforded. People should have the ability to work with their providers and family to make the best decision for their body. With the rise in infertility issues that we face as a culture, everybody should have rights to reproductive treatments to build their family. Additionally, people deserve the right to choose whether abortion care is right for them. Dr. Britt works with her clients to support them in advocating for their needs regarding reproductive freedom and body autonomy choices.
