My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist means that I hold a sacred space for my clients and trust my clients to make the best decision for themselves. It means I respect and honor their worldview and recognize they are an expert of their own lives.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Reproductive freedom and body autonomy are important to me because they are basic human rights and without them we lose part of our humanity. Without reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy, individuals are further marginalized and equality for all is unobtainable. Reproductive freedom is also important to me because it intersects with racism, classism sexism, heterosexism, ableism, ageism, and ethnocentrism, therefore perpetuating these oppressive beliefs.
