My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
To me, being a pro-choice therapist means respecting and supporting an individual's right to have autonomy over their own body. It means understanding that each person ultimately knows what is best for themselves, and that taking reproductive freedom away causes much more harm than good.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Reproductive freedom and body autonomy are important to me because without them, individual decisions cannot made based on individual circumstances. Laws restricting this access to reproductive freedom make situations more dangerous. Additionally, the mental health impact of not having body autonomy is significant, as these laws continue to perpetuate systems of oppression in our society.
