My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
To me being a pro-choice therapist means helping clients feel heard, advocated for and safe in the therapy space. As a pro-choice therapist I believe it is essential to be genuine, non-judgmental and accepting of clients where they are. As a pro-choice therapist I find it helpful to acknowledge systems that keep clients in cycles of generational trauma and abuse.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Reproductive freedom and body autonomy is important to me because I believe individuals know what's best for them. I believe in order to support clients in therapy it is essential to believe in their experiences and to trust that they are capable of making the best decisions for them.
